Posio WebSocket TCP Bridge

Secure local device access for Chrome applications. Posio WebSocket TCP Bridge enables browser-based systems to communicate with devices in your local network using a lightweight Windows background service.

Modern browsers, including Chrome, restrict direct TCP connections to local network devices for security reasons. Posio Bridge solves this limitation by creating a secure local WebSocket server that Chrome applications can connect to. The bridge then establishes a TCP connection with your target device and enables bidirectional command exchange. This architecture makes it ideal for POS systems, IoT devices, industrial controllers, receipt printers, barcode scanners and other local network hardware that must be controlled directly from a web-based interface.

FAQ

Common questions about Posio Bridge

Chrome blocks direct TCP connections to local devices for security reasons. Posio Bridge acts as a local proxy — your web interface connects via WebSocket, and the bridge forwards commands over TCP to the device.

Any device that accepts TCP connections: receipt printers (ESC/POS), fiscal registrars, barcode scanners, scales, and other local network hardware.

Yes. The bridge runs on Windows 7, 10 and 11 (32-bit build, compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit systems).

The WebSocket server listens only on localhost — it is not accessible from outside your computer. No data leaves your local machine.

Posio will show a connection error for the affected device. Simply start the bridge again — it runs as a background Windows service.
